Info for Artists

*This page is for the artists who have already been invited to take part in this exhibition and who have confirmed their participation. This roster of artists has been finalized, and  new submissions will not be accepted.*

Below you will find some general information for Part & Parcel accepted artists regarding the exhibition and the specifications of the gallery:

Exhibition Dates: March 25-April 26, 2012
Reception: Sunday, March 25, 1-4 p.m.
Artwork Delivery: Saturday, March 17, 10:30 a.m.
Artwork Pick-up: Saturday, April 28, 10:00 a.m.

The exhibitions at Arts Guild New Jersey are on a very tight schedule. The show will be installed on the date of artwork delivery, as soon as ALL artwork has arrived, so it is imperative that you are on time when dropping off your artwork.

The Walker Rod Hanging System is used to install the work, which means that all two-dimensional artwork must be wired for hanging using regular picture hanging wire. Please do not use corrugated hangers, wood blocks, or other hanging apparatus.

Work may also be hung from clips with fishing line attached to a brass ‘S’ hook. Any need for alternative hanging must be discussed and agreed upon well in advance of artwork delivery.

Works on paper should be appropriately framed under plexi-glass, which is preferred to regular glass.

All artwork is insured for the full value of the work while on the premises of Arts Guild New Jersey. This does not include while the work is in transit.

A PDF version of the exhibition announcement will be created and provided to the artists to distribute to their mailing lists. Arts Guild New Jersey will also promote the exhibition via email blast to their mailing list. A press release will be written and distributed via email to approximately 60 New Jersey and New York newspapers and publications on AGNJ’s current media list. If you’d like to suggest a media contact please send us their information and email address at least one month in advance of the event.

An opening reception, including food and beverages, will be provided at the designated date and time listed above.

Once the artwork that will be included in the exhibition has been agreed upon, please provide the following information for each piece:

-Title
-Date
-Medium
-Dimensions
-Price (AGNJ takes a 15% commission on all artwork sales; please factor
this into your price). Work is not required to be for sale.
-Insurance Value (if different from sale price, or if your piece is not
for sale)

Please also provide your full contact information, including preferred email address and website, mailing address, and phone number, if you have not done so already.

This blog will serve a variety of purposes, the most important of which is promotion of the show. It is a site featuring each artist in the exhibition, including an image and short bio/statement. It will be a place where each artist can promote other projects they’re working on, refer to general information about the exhibition, and also a way for the artists to communicate with each other. All artists in the exhibition are encouraged to participate in the blog and utilize it to its fullest potential. Please send along any information you’d like to share in the Artist News section.
